HASTINGS INTERNATIONAL CHESS CONGRESS

Once again the organisers are preparing for the 92nd Hastings International Chess Congress which will run from 28 December 2016 to 5 January 2017 at Horntye Park Sports Complex.

Hastings is the world’s oldest grandmaster chess event and many of the world champions have played here. The Congress now includes a range of events including Masters tournament, shorter tournaments for club players and the 34th Hastings Weekend. Entries come from countries all over the world and players of all ages and ability.

A daily commentary is provided by Grandmaster Chris Ward when members of the audience can get involved in the discussions about the games. Entry for visitors to the events is free.

Hastings International Chess Congress is sponsored by Hastings Borough Council and Tradewise Insurance Services and organised with the help of the English Chess Federation. Additional valuable support comes from The White Rock Hotel, The Lansdowne Hotel and KC Computers.
